This training teaches an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of aerial work platforms. The standard categories include: 3A (mobile vertical platforms & 3B (mobile boom platforms).
IPAF’s MEWP Operator Training is certified by TÜV as being in compliance with the international standard ISO 18878 Mobile Elevating Work Platforms – Operator (driver) training.
The duration of the course depends on the type of course, the experience of the trainee, the complexity of the machine and the number of machine categories. The most common is a one-day course with two categories.
Scheduling in consultation, for groups, also possible on-site.
Course duration: From half a day to three days, usually 1 day
Digital IPAF certificate and PAL card upon completion

This is the category for self-propelled scissor lifts. It includes the use of mobile vertical aerial platforms or scissor lifts. This category focuses on the safe operation of machines that move primarily vertically. PAV aerial platforms can also belong to this category. Examples include: self-propelled mast lifts and scissor lifts.
This category focuses on the safe use of mobile self-propelled aerial platforms. This includes machines such as telescopic booms and articulated booms. In this category, you will learn how to operate self-propelled aerial platforms that can make both vertical and horizontal movements.
This category concerns the safe use of static boom or (articulated) telescopic booms. This includes operating aerial platforms that are usually set up in one place and can reach beyond the base of the machine. Examples include: truck-mounted platforms, car-mounted platforms, trailer-mounted platforms, and spider lifts.

Coffee, tea & water are freely available at our training locations. Day courses include lunch.
For practical training with machines, safety shoes are mandatory. For the practical part, please take weather conditions into account regarding clothing. Required harness sets are available for you on the training day.
